Gas Gate not under rug just yet

As much as The King would like us to “Believe” that this investigation has no merit or is being swept under the rug, it would seem that it continues. Now there are those out there (and you know who you are) who truly believe that nothing will come of Gas Gate, and that the District Attorney Salavantis is just stalling, because she is inexperienced, overwhelmed, or just plain clueless, but I ask you to consider a few things for a second.

It takes no time at all to sweep something under the rug, and if that were the case wouldn’t she have wanted to do that some 15 months ago?

I only ask because she is almost up for reelection and as we approach that election season, will she then want to stall on Gas Gate, or simply sweep it under the rug?

Right when Luzerne County Voters (who usually have the memory of a goldfish) will have it fresh in their minds. I think not, in-fact, this (Gas-Gate) could very well be the pony that carries back across the finish line.

Remember she campaigned on an anti-corruption platform “Musto Must Go” claiming that she knew or should have known about the Kids for Cash scam, and she was likely right then, and we pray she does the right thing now.

If not we do have Santa to blame!

LAG hit with 12K lien

Poor Leo getting even poorer

As reported by the Times Leader “According to paperwork filed Friday in Luzerne County Court, LAG Transport & Recovery, Inc., of 83 Foote Ave., Duryea, was notified of a $12,984 commonwealth lien against the company.”

As if having all your so called friends, (whom you loaned cars to for years on end) turning their backs on you weren't bad enough “our Leo” ( as dubbed by Bob Kadluboski) takes yet another hit. This time by the state.

What’s next for “our Leo”

Well, with the State Police, and FBI allegedly he took $2,100 in bait money from what an undercover state trooper told him was a vehicle seized as part of a drug investigation.

Now this lien.

Oh and don’t forget about the Grand Jury, Joe Holden formerly of WBRE told us about, that’s still ongoing.

My guess is “our Leo” will be moving from his soon to be foreclosed home to the Big House real soon, unless he spills the beans that is.

Top 10 Reasons J.J. didn’t get hired

For those of you who don’t know, our former city administrator, ($300 per hr. do NOTHING consultant) J.J. murphy, is suing a suburban Philadelphia township, for NOT hiring him.

WOW: Imagine suing everyone who didn't hire you! We at Wake Up Wilkes Barre wondered why, Radnor Township passed on poor J.J., and this is what we found.

Top 10 reasons J.J. didn't get the job!

  • 10. The board members couldn't be bought.
  • 9. They saw past King Lie-A-Ton’s embellished recommendation letter.
  • 8. They spoke to any lifelong resident of Wilkes Barre as a character reference for J.J.
  • 7. They could smell a weasel a mile away
  • 5. They couldn't afford $300 per hr. for a do nothing consultant.
  • 4. Then-U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy (D., Pa.), called one board member before John Murphy's interview, they asked, he told!
  • 3. They read Wake Up Wilkes Barre.
  • 2. Hawkeye (enough said)!!!
  • And the # 1. Reason:  They found out the truth about you J.J.

In its response, Radnor Township denies any violations of federal law occurred. The township says Murphy was in the “second tier” of candidates and not deemed qualified for a second interview.

  • IMAGINE, J.J. “not deemed qualified”, we’ve know that for years.

The township alleges that board members felt Murphy might have embellished his record in Wilkes-Barre. It also argues that when Murphy's brother, then-U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy (D., Pa.), called one board member before John Murphy's interview, it left some members with a negative impression.

  • J.J.” embellished his record in Wilkes-Barre”, so, I wonder if he told them Hawkeye actually worked?
Newsflash for you J.J., your a lying weasel who sucks the taxpayers dry, and honest folks can smell that bull a mile away.

Sherman Hills Task Force?

So Adam Peters is shut down, when a person who is not on his lease, but registered with the county as living at Adam’s building, deals drugs at a complex commonly referred to by locals as Vermin Hills, and yet when that same complex has more shootings, drug deals, or stabbings in a single month than the entire City of Scranton has all year, we simply launch a FEEL GOOD Task Force made up of a King on the take, a Bible Beating Councilman, a Do Noting Blowhard, a State Representative who seems to be a nice guy but does very little to help his constituents, and a few other well-meaning individuals.

If this were any other landlord they would be shut down without even given their ONE STRIKE!

  • Selective Enforcement: Selective enforcement is the ability that executors of the law (such as police officers or administrative agencies, in some cases) have to select those against whom they want to enforce the law. The use of enforcement discretion in an arbitrary way is referred to as selective enforcement or selective prosecution. Historically, selective enforcement is recognized as a sign of tyranny, and an abuse of power, because it violates rule of law, allowing men to apply justice only when they choose.

Share that information WID us!

King Lie-A-Ton made a quick slur of words while speaking to reporters and folks on Facebook have been posting like crazy about the King’s use of the word WID instead of with. (if you haven't seen the newscast take a look at the bottom of this page.)

Now being from T-town I don’t normally correct the grammar of anyone, for obvious reasons to our loyal readers. After all perhaps that’s how the King pronounces the word WITH, perhaps he slurred because he just finished drinking his dinner, one can’t be sure.

Earlier today I overheard an interesting fact today while at WBPD, from the desk sergeant, (Or whatever title is assigned to the person fielding the non-emergency calls for the department). The caller obviously wanted a police officer to come out, but also didn’t feel it was an emergency.  At least that was my take from only hearing the ONE side of the conversation, as the officer told the caller repeatedly that they would need to dial 911. He said it several times, “well if you want that to happen you will need to dial 911” the frustrated officer told the caller. After the call ended, still frustrated the officer said “jeesh people are stupid”.

Now again as I am from T-town, I immediately thought “Oh God is he referring to me, did he even see me”? but then I soon realized he was referring to the previous caller.

That incident coupled with what the King said on WNEP-TV tonight leads me thinking, that officer may be onto something.

Following the King’s slur and the officers comment I’m now seeing some similarities.
  1. Both the caller and the King likely grew up here.
  2. Both likely went to Wilkes Barre Area
  3. Wilkes Barre Area has a long tradition of hiring NOT the most qualified teachers, but those that either tip the best, or are kin of someone.
So with those revelations I must warn you to "Wake Up Wilkes Barre" you are dumbing down the city through corruption, and “WID” Da King’s son teaching your kids just imagine how well they’ll do.

Wake Up Wilkes Barre Disclaimer:
  • Don’t get me wrong, I am in no way suggesting that people are in fact stupid, just providing an outside observation of my Wilkes Barre Education I’ve received just today.

King Fiddles While City Burns

For those of you who emailed Wake Up Wilkes Barre, wondering where you're beloved (not really) King was, while the city is falling apart. It looks as though he is palling around with the same old slime (now from Hobbs) we thought we were rid of.

From the King’s FB Page:
Great weekend in Green Bay at Lambeau Field! Beautiful stadium and great fans. One more off of the Bucket List if I had one ! Great win for the Eagles! Packers will rebound when Rodgers returns. — with Thomas Leighton and J.j. Murphy.

Poles can’t handle Flag Stress

At Thursday night’s council meeting World War II veteran Jim Walsh, 87 of Wilkes Barre spoke once again about the city’s lack of support when it comes to placing American Flags on the city’s light poles. Mr. Walsh has heard just about every excuse under the sun from this city as to why this cannot be done.

The city of course started their laundry list of excuses with No Money, so Mr. Walsh personally raised ALL moneys needed in accomplishing his goal, and now the city has YET another ridiculous excuse.

City Municipal Affairs Manager Drew Mc-Laugh-lin actually said “We need to do an independent analysis of the uh poles, to make sure that they can handle the stress of supporting a FLAG on them.”

Im not making this up, watch the video below for yourself:

  • The Stress of a Flag?
  • A Flag are you kidding me?
  • How much do these little Flags weigh? 10 ounces???
  • Does Mr. Mc-Laugh-lin drink heavily before council meetings?

Place One Out!

According to the Times Leader The owner of Place One at The Hollywood on South Main Street said Tuesday the city’s own engineering reports state her building is structurally sound.

  • Ok her building is sound but we will rip it down, makes sense so far right Wilkes Barre?

“Now the city is taking it out on me,” she said. “I did nothing wrong. My building is fine. I’m being railroaded.

  • Railroaded in Wilkes Barre, surely not!

“What am I supposed to do with all these dresses?” she asked. “I’ve been here before the development across the street. I’ve paid taxes for 22 years and now they’re throwing me out.”

  • But in those 22 years have you contributed to any of the King’s campaigns?

“I would hope the mayor and the city would want to do everything it could to keep a business open in the downtown,” she said. “I have told the city on several occasions over the years that debris has fallen off of those buildings. Why hasn’t the city done anything to preserve the buildings it owns?”

  • The mayor hasn’t had the time nor money to fix those buildings, as he has been pilfering the entire city coffer.

Coffee said she has been contacted by Rob Finlay of Humford Equities regarding possible locations, but she said she would have to renovate any new space to install special racks for dresses.

Leighton said the city has offered Coffee possible alternative sites and will allow access to move her merchandise out.

  • You could almost hear the King’s offer: “Yes Ms. Coffee, if you take refuge in one of the buildings owned by one of my largest campaign contributors, and agree to renovate his building, I think we could move those barricades for you!”

JUST TO BE CLEAR: Humford Equities donated $32,133 to the King’s campaigns

“We will even move some barricades if need be,” Leighton said. “But nobody seems to understand the pressure the city is under here. Do you realize how many people walk by those buildings every day?”

  • OK your lordship let us try to understand this, the city has owned those buildings for 15 years, you have been King for just over 9 of those same 15 years, and on council for the other 6, and this is NOT your fault?
  • Perhaps if you hadn’t been stealing gas, and everything that wasn’t nailed down, we could have used some of that cash to renovate these now unsafe buildings, we could have even given the renovation contract to another of your campaign contributing cronies. Just a thought!

Tired of The Kings and Queens?

Vote against them NOW

The Wilkes Barre City Taxpayers Association took the time to contact EVERY candidate running for local office that will affect the tax base in Wilkes Barre. The Taxpayers asked the candidates a few simple questions, in an effort to determine how they might ask if and when they are elected or re-elected.

From the Taxpayers Website: (With edits by WUWB in parentheses)

The Wilkes Barre City Taxpayers provided ALL candidates seeking elected office in The Greater Wilkes Barre Area, the opportunity to for consideration by answering a few questions.
  • ONE: If elected or re-elected will you vote to hire any of your family?
  • TWO: If elected or re-elected will you vote to increase taxes?

For the record the correct answer to questions 1 & 2 are simply NO!
With that in mind here is the list of Wilkes Barre City Taxpayers Endorsed Candidates:

Wilkes Barre Area School Board (Vote for not more than 4)
  • CHRISTINE KATSOCK (D) (Has consistently stood up for Taxpayers, and voted against hiring’s of board members family)
  • KATHY GRINAWAY (D) (Honest, and promised NEVER to hire her family, NOT politically connected AT ALL!)
  • SAM TROY (I) (Founding member of the WBCTPA)
In the case of school board, you may vote for not more than 4, but in our opinion there are only 3

County Council (Vote for not more than 5)
  • KATHY DOBASH (R) (Has been fighting for us for years, attending meetings, and she wasn’t even elected, so imagine how hard she will work once we elect her)
  • SUE ROSSI (R) (Tax Collector who has always stood for honesty)
  • PAUL J DEZINSKI (I) (WRITE-IN)
  • MICHAEL GIAMBER (D) (Easy to talk to, and another one who listens)
  • RICHARD KICK HEFFRON (D) (Won’t preach the Bible like some)
  • EILEEN M. SOROKAS (D) (Not a bobble head like Houck)
  • RENEE CIARUFFOLI TAFFERA (D) (Listens to you, and will never forgot who she works for)

County Controller
  • CAROLEE MEDICO OLENGINSKI (R) (King Lawton hates Carolee, (mainly because she won’t take any crap from him or his cronies) so We The People should LOVE her)

For those of you who will be supporting the good honest candidates listed above, we at the Wilkes Barre City Taxpayers Association thank you in advance, and for those of you who simply vote for whoever you’re told to vote for, or are voting for other less than genuine reasons. SHAME ON YOU!!!

Wake Up Wilkes Barre is asking for your VOTE. Please remember to VOTE tomorrow, and please consider the diverse slate of Democrats, Republicans, and Independent candidates listed above, as they are not only the Wilkes Barre City Taxpayers picks, but the ones you should, and WILL be able to turn to when needed, and trust me if you’ve attended a school board, county council, or city council meeting, and asked those bobble heads for help, you know from experience what I’m talking about, and if not, just wait.

Another building is falling?

Wilkes Barre City condemned not only its own decapitated buildings, but the neighboring (structurally safe) buildings as well, and told the owners they have 5 day to vacate.

OK let me see if I have this straight, the city allows its own dumps to fall apart, no repairs, no stabilization, and when it impacts good, honest, hardworking, small business, they are told get out, and they have no recourse.

Well I for one am not buying it.

We all heard the Sterling was falling, while the taxpayers paid $5,000 per month over the past 2 years for barricades, and now that the King’s campaign contributing buddies seem to have lost their $5,000 a month cash cow, some other buildings in the city must be falling.

Just as the busy holiday shopping season is upon our already struggling South Main Street business we either condemn them or block customers from traveling down the street.

Has anyone seen anything fall of any of those building on S. Main?

I wonder if this has anything to do with all the empty store fronts on the other side of the street, that are owned by yet another campaign contributing buddy.

Could we condemn some buildings, make life miserable for business owners, and travelers alike, then offer a quick solution, just so we can get our hands on those 2 buildings standing in the way of a few lucrative demolition, and construction projects that will be brought to you via community development grants.

Wake Up Wilkes Barre, your being fed another line of crap, and I think you enjoy the taste!

I’m ready are you?

Hawkeye Broke & Broken

Hawkeye Security Solutions, the city’s worthless 300+ network of citywide camera monitoring system.  Hawkeye was brainchild of our former city administrator turned Hobbs, NM City Manager, J.J. (grab the cash & run) Murphy. Now Hawkeye openly admits it is too broke to function, and is looking to unload the worthless mess of a do nothing, see nothing, imaginary deterrent, on the city.

If you’re thinking either city council or mayor Lie-A-Ton will put up much of a fight, then you must be the one who still believes in Tooth fairy.

Fact is J.J. screwed us, and the King and company wholeheartedly approved of the screwing. All the while, the president, and vice president of Hawkeye were relentlessly defended the system, even as it failed to catch break-in after break-in at our city parking structures, and most recently 3 of the useless mid-town cameras somehow overlooked the nearly fatal beating of the cook from Bart & Urby’s.

President Frank (of the Kings & Queens family) Majikes
Vice President Greg Barrouk

Now that Hawkeye has squandered not only what little cash it had on hand, but any hope of future grants due to the blatant misuse of federal tax dollars, when its board along with the WBPD Chief lied to the DOJ claiming the Hawkeye system was online with the city’s records management system, known as Total Enforcement, when in fact it NEVER was, and per Barrouk “a mountain of red tape,” is in the way.

Well it’s easy to see why the board members want to wash their hands of the entire mess.

WOW I wish I could cleanse the city of some other mess makers so easily.

FREE Ride Trailways?

Wouldn't it be nice to live rent FREE?

Well if your last name is Henry, and you operate one of the largest bus fleets in the nation, then the taxpayers of Wilkes Barre should not only beg you to service their city, they should pay your rent, clean up the messes made by your patrons, and even provide the basic maintenance that your RENT FREE lease says your responsible for.

WOW whose pockets are the Henry’s lining?

In all fairness to Martz Trailways, I hear that they actually do pay their own electric bills at Intermodal, but that’s about it, as it relates to operating costs, in the city’s downtown.

Based on this story one can’t help but wonder how many other business are getting the same RENT FREE deal, simply because the King is sweet on them?

For instance any one of the downtown bars, that the King has been known to stagger from late at night, or perhaps the Queens Boutique?

Anyone have proof that these businesses actually pay rent?

Victim or a criminal?

According to the Citizens Voice the “Wilkes-Barre police are warning residents to be wary of scams after several people were duped out of more than $1,400.”

I’m a bit perplexed by this sudden turn of events, because just a few short months ago, officer Robert Collins was offering to drag an old woman, handcuffed through the city highrise, she lives in, for what he called “Theft by deception and Bad checks”, after she was a victim of crime in the same manner that now the WBPD is now warning us about.

  • So what was that all about, I wonder?

  • Who in Bobbies friends list was in trouble at the credit union?

One Strike serious due process problems who'da thunk?

According to the Times Leader the ACLU is taking issue with the city’s One Strike law.

  • Hum so you can’t barge into someone’s home, remove the battery from their smoke detector, and shut the place down?

According to Liza Prokop spokesperson for the city three properties have been closed under One Strike

  • 216 Carlisle Street posted on 9/13/2013. Owner appealed.
  • 80 Hickory Street posted on 10/4/2013. No appeal filed to date.
  • 59 Oakwood Lane posted on 10/10/2013. No appeal filed to date.

The ACLU said there were concerns about “serious due process problems” with the mayor’s proposal to amend the ordinance and set a one-strike limit for gun and drug crimes that would trigger a six-month shut down of a rental unit or building.

Bill Vinsko assistant city attorney said the city “has no plans to change any part of the ordinance” and welcomed the opportunity to meet with the ACLU. “We’re willing to discuss all issues,” Vinsko said. “We want to keep an open dialogue.”

  • In other words “you are welcome to state your concerns, but please remember this is Wilkes Barre, and we do as we please.”

Parking Authority, Hawkeye’s only hope

According to the Citizens Voice The Wilkes-Barre Parking Authority won't give anymore money to Hawkeye Security Solutions until questions about its financial stability are answered.

So pay attention to what Greg Barrouk Hawkeye Vice President, and City Deputy Administrator said, "I hope from attending their meeting, I can answer whatever questions they have," Barrouk said. "Hopefully, we can prove these cameras have been a deterrent."

Talk about a BIG FAT LIE. Let me ask those who have been victimized in our LOW CRIME CITY,
  • Have you seen the tapes?
  • Did Hawkeye see the man who was beaten the other day in Park & Lock Central?
  • Did Hawkeye see the thugs Apple Picking in front of a camera on the square?
  • Did Hawkeye see the thugs Apple Picking in Park & Lock Central?
  • Did Hawkeye see your car(s) being vandalized in Park & Lock Central while you were at Movies 14?
  • For those who still believe Hawkeye was instrumental in the case of that poor child’s hit & run, remember it was King’s College and Thom Greco’s bridal store videos that were released, and it was eye witness reports that led police in the direction of the fleeing car.

If it fails to win a grant, Barrouk said he's confident the city will find a way to keep the cameras running. Earlier this month, Mayor Tom Leighton said it's possible that the city could end up funding the network with taxpayer dollars.
  • SAY WHAT?

"Safety and security has been a priority of the mayor since taking office," Barrouk said. "If it's something we have to carve out of our general budget, we will."
  • OK I’ll say it again SAY WHAT?

Now that we've gotten through the BS lets offer the Parking Authority a few solutions.

Murray Ufberg solicitor for the Parking Authority said "Most people here agree that the cameras are a (crime) deterrent, If they're beneficial to the authority and our operations, we should look at renewal, but we should know very well what we're getting into before we do that."

If it’s working cameras you want, here are some inexpensive, practical, solutions that will do what Hawkeye couldn’t (catch the bad guys red handed).
Even if they are no better than Hawkeye, remember they won't cost $100,000.00 Per Year, and LAZ will have access to them.

Now if your accustom to the do nothing but act like a deterrent, (and Mr. Casey this option is for you) paperweight style dummy cams that your garages currently have.

How to confuse Sheeple

Step ONE: Don’t give them anything, let them starve nearly to death. Once they are to the point of passing out, toss them a crumb and you walk on water.

Step TWO: Repeat step one as needed...

Example: The King doesn’t hire 1 single cop from 2009 – Present, in that time cops are promoted, transferred, retire. Then you hire their replacements, and sell it as 10 NEW HIRES! The Sheep couldn't be happier.

Lie-A-Ton said: "My goal is to hire at least 10 new officers in 2014, but we will closely monitor the strength of city finances to hire as many officers as the general fund can afford”

Translated for the Sheeple: This means we may or may not get some or any of those purposed officers, depending on how looted the general fund becomes.

Now onto the Pay Raise:

Lie-A-Ton said: “Unionized city employees will receive a 3 percent raise.” Leighton's salary also will increase 3 percent for 2014 to $82,309.  ” It’s consistent with what all the city employees receive,”

Translated for the Sheeple: Wake Up Sheeple THE KING is not an employee!!! He is an Elected Official, and when you STUPID DOLTS, (and you know who you are) voted for this crook, you voted him in at $79,911 NOT $82,309!!!!

FACT: As the King is NO longer stealing 18,000 gallons of GAS, so he can afford to grant himself a $2,398 per year salary increase, and one has to wonder why the PSC gas bills dropped so drastically? (I do wonder if this dipstick District Attorney asked that question.)

Cameras see nothing, Feel safe will ya?

If you were wondering why the city had a pack of DPW workers cleaning the Intermodal last Sunday (a job Martz should do for their FREE RENT), scrubbing, and scouring the building from top to bottom, (ALL OVERTIME) now you know!

During this week’s press conference the mayor spoke about the new Intermodal camera system being added to the city’s now 300+ citywide system, known to the city as Hawkeye, but to the victims of crime as Blindeye, (for reasons well know to our readers as well).

The sign hanging at Intermodal warns that nobody is watching you, even though all previous contacts with Hawkeye call for at least TWO persons monitoring the system, and yet the liars @ RJG (who just so happen to be the largest campaign contributors of the King’s campaign) don’t advise their clients (The Parking Authority) to file for breach of contract. Hum, me wonders why?

"Today is a very good day," Leighton said. "I believe people will feel safer."

Well let’s see your lordship, the cameras at Intermodal have been online since July (per Hawkeye), and we have seen (well not really because the cameras didn't):

  • A car stolen, while officers argued about cameras looking at the ground, or “it’s complicated”.

You may recall A woman being raped in the stairwell in June (before the cameras coming online), Leighton said he didn't believe the cameras would have prevented that crime, but they would have helped police identify the suspect.

So as nobody is watching they wouldn't help you while being raped but they would have helped police identify the suspect??? Didn't the victim do that on her own?

AND yet you hope we feel safer? We will feel safer when either our worthless D.A. halls you out of city hall in handcuffs, or your office is relocated to Sherman Hills.

Speaking of the shooting gallery, why didn’t Sherman Hills, or any other section of the hood get 64 new cameras?

Fence doesn’t hold

The newly installed fence separating Sherman Hills, and Interfaith Heights hasn’t even been up for a month, and already city police are experiencing problems?

Go figure: Another one of his lordships quick fixes doesn’t hold…

According to IRC NUMBER:130194885, OFFICER: Ptl. P. Crawford, On Saturday 09-28-13 at 1325 hrs WBPD received a call stating a male was just observed entering Sherman Hills through a gap in the fence and he zip tied the fence back together. Officers arrived on scene as the male was exiting. Officers instructed the male to stop at which time he fled and was quickly apprehended. Search incident to arrest revealed the male, identified as DAVID CHARLES CALLAHAN, to be in possession of (10) plastic bags of a hard chalky substance, suspected crack cocaine and (2) plastic bags containing suspected heroin.

Who paid for the fence remains under investigation, as two city employees have told Wake Up Wilkes Barre (off the record) that they believe the city paid for the seemingly worthless fence.

AFTER this post went live:

  • WUWB got word from a High ranking city official who said "the city did NOT, in anyway shape or form pay for that fence".

Now come the problem, all sources who have provided statements to WUWB are trusted, (the 2 employees, and the high ranking official, who has never to the best of our knowledge provided any false information).

So: someone somewhere must believe they did, for a rumor to have funneled down from city hall, the way it did.

King’s College released a picture from a surveillance camera of possible suspects. City Police arrested three juveniles.

Turkey Hill released a picture from a surveillance camera of possible suspects. Police think they have identified a suspect in a Sept. 13 assault.

Trashy Intermodal Elevator catches FIRE?

If you’ve ever visited the Wilkes Barre Intermodal, you’re likely not surprised by the amount of trash lingering around the garage, but it may come as a surprise that there was apparently so much trash stuffed in the elevator shaft that it erupted into flames.

Who is responsible for this mess?

  • Don’t even think about blaming our City DPW Employees…

This dump falls directly under the control of the Intermodal Management Company, DBA (doing business as) Martz Trailways.

According to a Times Leader news article from 2010 “The city entered into an agreement with Martz Trailways to be the management company for the Intermodal. In lieu of rent, Martz takes on the responsibility of running the terminal and keeping it clean.”

AND of course at the time “Leighton praised Marie McCormick, city administrator, and Butch Frati, director of operations, for seeing the project through to completion.”

  • You could almost hear the King: “Bribes from Martz, and we (the city) will clean up the mess… The Sheeple will never be the wiser, GREAT JOB Marie and Butchy, GREAT JOB…”

Walter sentenced, Thieves walk FREE

Former Luzerne County Controller, (AKA Corruption Fighter), Walter Griffith will serve three years’ probation for tape-recording the thieves who made off with millions in taxpayer funds, that should have been used to repair the now demolished Hotel Sterling.

Now don’t get me wrong Griffith did commit a crime. He broke Pennsylvania Law when he recorded slime balls telling him how they stashed the cash, and saved their A$$, but more importantly Griffith violated a longstanding Luzerne County Policy of not ratting each other out, and for that alone Griffith MUST be punished.

After all who did Griffith think he was, recording the all knowing, self-important, Judd Shoval, who likely enjoyed telling Griffith exactly where the cash was stashed, and how he could do nothing about it?

For those of you who are enjoying Griffith’s demise, we do have to wonder WHY? Whose pocket do you have your hand planted in?

Again Griffith broke the law, and should be punished for his crime, but what of those who made off with taxpayers cash, gas, auto repairs, garbage pick-up, or anything else for that matter?

Well in Luzerne County, they will likely be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Look all I am saying is, let the punishment fit the crime, and apply the same level of prosecution to ALL….

Let’s prosecute, not prostitute corrupt public officials, because at this point I believe the Luzerne County Court House should be renamed the Luzerne County Whore House.

Sherman Hills to pay $33,000?

The City of Wilkes Barre cited Sherman Hills Realty LLC, $33,000 because as the city put it "they failed to have 60 units inspected after tenants moved out since the City's last inspection in May. They were fined $33,000 - this includes fines and new inspection fees."

Now as many will tell you, Sherman (Hood, Slums,) Hills, whatever name they are using these days, has just about gone unnoticed by this administration, and as federal inspectors storm the building the city miraculously pounces into action. Really???

Hum sounds like when the King's LAG investigation conveniently wrapped up, literally as Leo was being taken in custody.

FBI “Crime Down” - NEWS “8 Killed in WB”

Welcome to the new FBI, where they report the fabricated crime statistics of a drunken sloth King.

Today’s Headlines:

The Citizens Voice:
The Times Leader:

Hello FBI… Is this thing on?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but was crime down citywide last year?  My guess is watching the increasing number of boarded up homes grow, while at the same time Real Estate values have fallen faster than the King’s pants with a prostitute nearby. It’s a safe bet crime has steadily increased, not at all decreased.

This year we have seen 8 killed on our (safer) city streets in 9 months, and that’s not to mention those shot, and NOT killed. Or robbed, beaten, raped, or slaughtered. OK I guess it does account for the slaughtered, but you get my point. Yet at this rate the FBI should be predicting that crime has all but vanished citywide for 2013, and my question to the Sheeple of Wilkes Barre, Are you buying it?

One has to wonder if the FBI actually knows what is going on. I mean you would think with all their spying technology they could at least find, and read any one of our 3 city newspapers, or at minimum, Wake Up Wilkes Barre.

Seriously

Torbik Security System still in Murphy’s house?

Upon hearing the unanswered questions from private residents, The Wilkes Barre Independent Gazette traveled all the way to Hobbs, NM to interview former Wilkes Barre City Administrator, J.J. ($300 per hr) Murphy. Who, as luck would have it, just received a huge pay raise the very week the Gazette came-a-calling...

Murphy previously stated publicly that he gave that pesky security system back, BUT now tells the Gazette that he is still paying for the monitoring fees for the allegedly given back security system, and out of his own pocket no less.

I know what your thinking, contract, right? After all it was only installed in 2005, I'm sure it must still be under contract...RIGHT??? HA HA!!!

So for all the DA’s blustering that she personally saw the system, the Gazette also attempted to call, her, but like any Luzerne County politician she didn’t return the reporters calls. Hum me wonders who the DA is in bed with?

Stop Harassing Da’ King, or else!!

Attention ALL City Employees: Should you encounter the King either fully engaged in, or conspiring to do anything, that you, and I know he shouldn’t, you are now required to LOOK THE OTHER WAY…

Pay no attention to that ageing document in Philadelphia, for you have a contract with a union (that swore to protect you), but unfortunately they too are on the Kings payroll.

We the people pay not ONE but TWO, City Liars to spin the law, as the King sees fit, and should you be lucky enough to have an attorney, I’m sure we can find a way around him or her.

Exhibit A: The Backroom Bakery: Founded in 2009, by his lordship, and his car-jacking golden boy, to be the new and improved SWB Chop-Shop.

Exhibit B:  Facebook Rants: Read your union contract, you may not disparage your employer in public.

Exhibit C: Children? If you have them, the King will use them against you, while he hires his own.

Bottom line: Speaking ill of the King shall be grounds for immediate termination, as you are creating a “Hostile Work Environment”.

  • NOTE: The Truth shall be no defense.

For those readers who have no idea what in the world we are rambling about, please read the Citizens Voice Article below, and remember, the King, and Co. reserves the right to blame any employee, for any article printed, either on Wake Up Wilkes Barre, or in any city newspaper, at anytime, without warning.

No Inspection + Bribe = PASSED?

On September 1, 2013, The Citizens Voice Newspaper accurately pointed out the massive, unaddressed, overlooked, or ignored problems with one of the city’s low income, out of town, crime infested, falling down, slumholes.

Now of course the CV used far fewer words in their description than we did. In-fact their exact verbiage was, “Crime-prone. Drug-ridden. Violent.”, and although the CV was far more tackfull than Wake Up Wilkes Barre, I believe you get the picture in either case.

According to the CV “City Hall has a poor record when it comes to enforcing its own property rules. Sherman Hills went two years without notifying the city when tenants moved out so that city-mandated inspections could take place.”

  • TWO YEARS: While Linda Urban, and Frank Sorick of the Taxpayers Association were screaming at the Bobblehead, do nothing City Council. Yet Bobblehead Barrett has the nerve to get upset that NOT ONE inspection was done. News Flash Bill, you’ve been hearing it for TWO YEARS!!! You did NOTHING!!!

The point is, one has to wonder why any city government (especially one that just passed a strict one strike policy) could possibly overlook such a stick hole? Well my friends the answer is quite simple, and Mark Robbins adequately addressed the issue on his Blog WB-TRUTH. Mark alleged that our King was bought off, and knowing the King as I do, it wouldn’t take much.

We’ve all seen him take campaign contributions in exchange for contract’s, he’s even looked the other way, while a city contractor violated his contract and swindled old lady’s out of their vehicle’s.

  • So why not take a bag full of cash in exchange for overlooking a few rental inspections?
  • Is it so inconceivable, to think that our King would stoop so low?
After all those slums receive federal moneys, and HUD must do an inspection, so why would the city need to do one?

Let me ask you private landlords, accepting section 8, if you still had to have a city inspection?

  • Well unless you’re a shrewd Lawyer who inherited a ton of properties, and don’t care who you rent to, and have a reputations for battling the King, while defending his slimy friends, then you likely don’t, but for the rest of your landlords, I believe my question is still valid.
Did you have 2 inspections? One from the city, and one from Section 8?

John or Bruce for Mayor???

What’s in a name?

Well as it would seem, if you run for county council, lose, then get yourself on the ethics board with one name, and have perhaps tarnished said name, upon resigning from said ethics board, you could always use your pen-name if you plan to seek another office.

It’s likely the public wouldn't even notice, the chances of that of course increase if you’re in Luzerne County, and if you’re in Wilkes Barre, well then you’re golden.

According to a recent post that appeared on the personal Facebook pages of several of Wake Up Wilkes Barre’s Facebook friend’s, Mr. John Simpson will be announcing shortly in the press, that he is a candidate for Mayor of Wilkes Barre, City.

Problem:
John Simpson, A.K.A. Bruce Simpson seems to be off to a great start. As it appears he is either using a pen-name or alias. Now this could just be a Facebook pen-name for business reasons, but using one name for voter registration, and another name when publicly soliciting campaign assistance seems a bit unethical, but then again we've had 10 years of no ethics in the mayor’s office, so why start now?

Facebook's Name Policy:
Facebook is a community where people use their real identities. We require everyone to provide their real names, so you always know who you're connecting with.

Hear that Catfish?

WB Ordinance Enforcement JOKE???

Wilkes-Barre does not go easy on vacant property owners. At least not on paper.  Said Chris Hong of the Citizens Voice, and Mr. Hong, you are 100% CORRECT!!!

The City of Wilkes Barre under King Lie-A-Ton, is not at all Impartial, Just, or Fair. We pass ordinances to either make less informed citizens Feel Good, or serve the interests of his lordship, and his cronies.

Fact: In 2010 city council passed the vacant property ordinance, and to date, NOT ONE property has been registered. So either the boarded up home next to you does not exist or once again, The King has FAILED!

Municipal Affairs Manager Drew Mc-Laugh-Lin said code enforcement doesn't have enough employees.
Even the Citizens Voice is tired of that same old excuse, as they stated “It's the second lapse code enforcement has blamed on inadequate staffing.”

Get a clue Drew, had you cited these dump owners, the city could have owned, rehabbed, and/or sold them, and increased revenue by now, thus hired more enforcers.

Council Chairman Bill Barrett, and Councilman Mike Merritt sound as though they are getting a bit perturbed as well.

Barrett:
"We at that time thought, and I still think, that we should follow through on this," Barrett said. "I suspected this was going by the wayside in some ways. Eventually, someone is going to get hurt, or one will erupt in fire. I can only imagine having one next to me."
  • Glad to see your Waking up Bill.

Merritt:
Said he was unaware the city wasn't enforcing it. "If someone feels it's important enough to make it a law, the people should sure as hell enforce it," Merritt said. "If the administration doesn't feel it should be enforced, let's get it off the books. We have too many things not enforced to begin with."

Now onto One-Strike:
An Ordinance that looks to have been designed in order to combat problems like Sherman Hills. Essentially giving the city the power to shut down Hellholes like that before any more innocent children are gunned down.

But according to Mc-Laugh-Lin: If only one unit is at fault, the unit will be shut down and not the entire complex.

How about a complex where Drugs are sold in the hallways, parking lots, and play areas, or a complex where officers who respond to calls for help, leave with bullet wounds, or a complex where innocent children are shot in the face, or neck?
  • Which unit will be closed Drew?

For those of you who still "Believe", I ask you to please report to Sherman Hills, for routine, daily, safety walks.
