Neyhard said something….

For those of you who haven’t a clue, The Wilkes-Barre Area School District voted 5-0 to end Service Electric Cable Televisions broadcast of sporting events at city schools, because broadcaster Rob Neyhard made statements about the rising crime in and around our city A YEAR AGO

Neyhard said “I wouldn’t want to send my kids to GAR, nor teach at GAR due to the crime in that area.”

It was true then, and true NOW!!!

According the Citizens Voice the issue of halting SECTV’s broadcast of sporting events came after board member Dino Galella made the motion to authorize the football broadcasts. Denise Thomas responded with objections, noting comments that “chastised our kids on air” and spread “negativity.”

  • OK now I must admit that I’m just a simple blogger from T-Town here but telling the truth about rising crime in our city, and stating concerns for the safety of the students/teachers who attend one of our city schools hardly seems like “chastised our kids on air” and spread “negativity.”, but then again this is Wilkes-Barre, and anything you say can and will be spun against you.

What amazes me is that a district know for corruption, that is about to award a multi-billion dollar, new school contract to one of the King’s favorite campaign donors is all of a sudden so worried about its public image that it would resurrect comments from a YEAR AGO, and inaccurately spin them so they could justify punishing the very kids they claim to be representing.

Seriously, who is punished by this action?
  • Rob Neyhard? NO!!! He did NOTHING wrong!
  • Service Electric Cable Television? NOT EVEN A LITTLE BIT, it costs them more to air the game, as a public service than it’s worth I’ll bet!
  • The Kids? YOU BET!!! Without media exposure, there is less chance of talent scouts seeing them in action!
  • Their loved ones? FOR SURE!!! Grandma, Grandpa, who simply can’t get to the half-assed constructed stadium, and while I’m at it, why is that stadium so screwed up, you wonder? It’s because the board squandered the grants given to fund the TOTAL refit of the stadium, and lost part of the funding for not acting in a timely fashion.

But let’s not talk about real issues like corruption, nepotism, playing fast and loose with the taxpayers money, or the failing scores on the state standards, at a Wilkes-Barre Area School Board meeting, let’s instead dredge up nonsense from a YEAR AGO, and spin it so far from the truth that we can’t even remember who said what about whom. Yet we can certainly rest assured that someone MUST have said something, that was later spun into something that it was never intended to be, all in an effort to divert attention from the real issues.

DuhSoye Defamed?

As our thief of police’s career with the city is likely winding down (probably due to Federal Investigations) he is scrambling to find something, anything else, at least that’s what we’ve heard. First we heard he was going to work for the State but that fell through (likely because they can read), now it’s off to King’s College, but first we must intimidate those who would dare to mutter the TRUTH.

Mark Robbins of Forty Fort received a letter from the law firm of RJG (Rosenn Jenkins & Greenwald LLP) Attorneys At Law. Should you be unfamiliar with whom RJG is, then you really don’t pay attention, because in addition to being the LARGEST campaign contributor to King Lie-A-Ton, you pay them daily. RJG represents you (the people) every single day, and sometimes twice a day, as they (RJG) are the solicitors for more municipal boards and authorities in and around Wilkes-Barre City, then the law should ever allow, and now they’ve taken up the case of our poor, misunderstood, allegedly defamed, thief of police Gerard Dessoye, in his quest to silence anyone who would dare to claim is his less than an honorable, upstanding Chief of Police.

Well I’ve got news for you RJG, get ready to sue an entire city, because other than the few Kool-Aide drinkers, there ain’t a soul left in town who Believes, and not because they read this or Robbins blog, but because they live in this cesspool of crime, and corruption, that this thief of police, and his gas pilfering cousin, have created.

I would think long and hard before initiating any lawsuit, as you know the initial filing will result in Robbins landing in discovery, gaining immediate subpoena powers, and having the ability to depose anyone he feels can substantiate any of his claims, including but not limited to the entire staff, past and present of the WBPD, RJG, City Hall, DPW, Contractors, City Residents, LAG Victims, and the list goes on, and on, and on, well you get the picture. Not to mention the lawsuit will create a media circus, and anyone who hasn’t yet heard of just how inept Gerry is at his job will surely find out then, so your attempts at silencing Robbins will only result in YOU providing him with a much, much larger soap box.

Remember J.J.’s lawsuit against Radnor Township?

King's College Security Get Ready for SLUMBER

Word on the street is Wilkes Barre City Police Chief Gerard Dessoye is TWO SECONDS from landing the job of Head of Campus Security at King's College

After his tenure as Chief of WBPD, the city has seen skyrocketing crime rates, murders per capita among the HIGHEST in the nation, an unsolved crime statistic so high there isn't even a chart for which to track, and a police force that’s smeared by allegations of corruption.

Now if you’re a parent thinking about sending your child away to college take comfort in the fact that should something bad happen to your child, your new Head of Campus Security will not only NEVER solve the crime, but will more than likely move expeditiously to blame them, as we have seen oh so many times. Much like the rape of a young girl in Kirby Park the other day, where the Chief was quoted as saying “it’s in an area that people should be very cautious of”, referring to Kirby Park.

After all who would think, that one could stroll through a city park, while talking on your cell phone, and not expect to be raped?

Don’t get me wrong, as a city resident I couldn’t be happier that Gerry is leaving the WBPD, and we could only hope that we get a new chief, who is truly concerned about public safety.

As for King’s, don’t expect much, he doesn’t deliver much, but then again I suspect you already know that, and it’s not like you’re not hiring him based on his experience, yet to repay his lordship for either past or future taxpayer funded gifts.

Young Girl Raped in Kirby Park?

According to WBRE-TV a young girl was talking on her phone, and “got separated from her group”, when a man, described as skinny, blond hair, missing several teeth, with a noticeable scar from his ear to his shoulder, sexually assaulted her.

The news is reporting this as a “Sexual Assault”, as defined by Merriam-Webster:

  • Sexual Assault: “illegal sexual contact that usually involves force upon a person without consent or is inflicted upon a person who is incapable of giving consent”
  • Rape “to force (someone) to have sex with you by using violence”

Wilkes Barre Police Chief Gerard Dessoye said “it’s in an area that people should be very cautious of”

  • Be cautious? In a public park?

The clueless Chief also said “people think that because of its proximity to a city, they’re not a cautious”

  • WHAT??? Proximity? Hello Gerry, Kirby Park is IN THE CITY!
  • Word is Gerry would like to be the head of security at Kings College.. maybe they give him a map.

The good news in all this is the clueless Chief is finally beginning to admit that we have a problem, and like Mark Robbins has been telling him for years, admitting you have a problem is the only way to find a solution.

Barney Farms Park ONLY?

You may recall last summer, Wake Up Wilkes Barre published “A Tale of Two Cities” pointing out that while the Barney Farms Park was beautifully landscaped and maintained, other parks in the city (where the common folk play) were NOT. After “A Tale of Two Cities” ran, folks spoke about it at council, and the King responded with “the summer help will be starting soon”.

Now enter the Times Leader TODAY: “Wilkes-Barre resident faults city for condition of tennis courts at park” where a city resident points out how the tennis courts at the Bog Park, near his home in Miners Mills, are and have been neglected for years, while the tennis courts at Barney Farms Park, literally in the Kings back yard are impeccably kept.

  • Well your lordship it’s JULY summer help has been on for some time?

Now you could be one of those "Lie-A-Ton Suckholes" we hear tell about, who feels this is acceptable behavior, (and you know who you are), but for the other 39,000 people of our overgrown city, Wake Up Wilkes Barre will translate the city’s response to the Times Leader, so you can understand their true meaning.

Referring to the forgotten tennis courts at the Bog, The city’s website still lists the courts as one of the park’s amenities that also include the playground, two baseball fields, a volleyball court and handball court.

  • So either we don’t update the city’s website or we’re just hoping nobody takes notice.

City spokeswoman Liza Prokop said that the city eliminated tennis courts in the past due to lack of use and maintenance costs.

  • OK so we “eliminated tennis courts” but didn't update the website. Humm, Lie much Liza?

“We are always addressing the conditions and use of our recreational parks and concentrate on those that are used more heavily,” Prokop said.

  • What Prokop meant to say here is, “We are always addressing the conditions of our recreational parks near the King’s residence and concentrate on those that are used by those that we feel matter,”
